I'm not sure how familiar you are with Google, but these occur if they come across backlinks that were artificially created. Our previous SEO company may have built backlinks on your site, which is the reason for this penalty.

We will soon be filing a reconsideration request and passing along all of the information about our attempts to clean up backlinks that our previous SEO company created.
